About our bath repair in Hartpury

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. You can generally use the bath the day after. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic, and common reasons people get in touch are scratches you can feel with a fingernail and snagging damage from a refit.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

FAQs for Hartpury

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

Repair or replace in Hartpury?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. Allow a morning or an afternoon.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
