What affects the price in Longridge

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Most customers in Longridge get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Bath repair in Longridge, done in place

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles aren’t touched, and the repaired area is colour matched so it blends in. Our repair technicians work on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and a kit repair that didn’t last.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

Repair or replace in Longridge?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it deals only with the damage in a single visit. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
