How we handle bath repair in Headley
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We work on acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and people most often call us about chips along the edge of the bath and deep scratches in acrylic.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Questions from Headley
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send photos.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Headley. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Why book with us

- We leave the room as we found it

What we can’t put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
What we do, step by step
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for two to three hours for most chips from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to care for it.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, usually by the day after, the bath is ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Open a window if you can
- Ensure the area is dry
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

How to look after the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Do you need bath repair in Headley?
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
Look out for these signs:
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Chips on the rim or sides
- A cracked acrylic bath
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
What to look for in a quote
- How the room is protected while they work
- What happens if they find more damage
- How long it needs to cure
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
For landlords and businesses
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Headley. The price reflects:
- Access to the area
- The type of damage
- Unusual colours or finishes
- The material
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Send pictures for a quote
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
