Bath repair in Howick Cross, done in place
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and people most often call us about scratches you can feel with a fingernail and a kit repair that didn’t last.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many items we do on one visit
- The type of damage
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book.
Quotes from your pictures
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Something in shot to show the size
- Natural light rather than flash
- The material, if you know it
Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your PR1 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

How the visit works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes two to three hours for most chips. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Open a window if you can
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
How to get a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Related advice
Do you need bath repair in Howick Cross?
A cracked acrylic bath normally wasn’t supported properly. Legs that aren’t adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.
Look out for these signs:
- Chips caused by builders
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
- A chipped rim or side
- A hole punched through by something heavy
What to look for in a quote
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Aftercare advice
- What protection goes down before work starts
- How soon you can use it again
Why repair rather than replace?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why book with us
- No need to remove anything
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

How to look after the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Can tenants book a repair?
