Bath repair near Ilton

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Bath repair in Ilton, done in place

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can normally use the bath the day after. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and impact holes in acrylic.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Should you replace it?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Usually it does not: a proper repair gives it years more use, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Work done at your home or business

FAQs for Ilton

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Do you come to Ilton?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Ilton and the rest of Somerset. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What do you need from me?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote. There is no obligation to book.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

A repaired bath needs no special treatment. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Holes from dropped items

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

How to compare quotes

What a repair can’t fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
