Bath repair at your home in Inkerman

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are a kit repair that didn’t last and scratches you can feel with a fingernail.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What affects the price in Inkerman

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Common questions in Inkerman

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Do you come to Inkerman?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Inkerman and the rest of Renfrewshire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will I be able to see the repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we will tell you what to expect.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Usually within a day, though it depends on what we have done.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Open a window if you can
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Inkerman as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Do you need bath repair in Inkerman?

Rust generally starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed:

  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • A chipped rim or side
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
  • Chips under the taps

Questions to ask before booking

  • How to look after the finish
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What prep work is covered

Choosing a repair company

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
