Bath repair near Kingsley Moor

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

Bath repair at your home in Kingsley Moor

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We regularly repair acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most frequently call us about a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Questions from Kingsley Moor

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Do you work in Kingsley Moor?

We do. Technicians travel to Kingsley Moor from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Ask for a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

How to care for the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

What affects the price in Kingsley Moor

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Kingsley Moor. The price comes down to:

  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Natural light rather than flash

Upload photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your ST10 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
