Bath chip & crack repair in Kirby Wiske, North Yorkshire
Problem with your bath in Kirby Wiske? We put it right where it is, mix the colour on the day and guarantee the work for a year.
- Repairs from £95
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.

Bath repair at your home in Kirby Wiske
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can normally bathe again the following day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We work on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted.
All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in North Yorkshire.

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The colour and finish to match
- How many areas need work
- How easy the damage is to reach
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.
Getting a price from pictures
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
What we are called out for in Kirby Wiske
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Chips under the taps
- Snagging damage from a refit
Comparing quotes
- How your room will be protected
- What aftercare is recommended
- What prep work is covered
- How changes to the job are handled

What we do, step by step
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
Get a quote
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Related advice
When a repair is not the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- A steel bath rusted through
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.
DIY kit or professional repair?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Kirby Wiske questions
How do I book?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
What happens next?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
How long before I can use the bath?
Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.
Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.
