About our bath repair in Knob's Crook
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, generally in a single visit. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and common reasons people get in touch are scratches you can feel with a fingernail and a cracked acrylic bath.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Knob's Crook as everywhere else we work.

Should you replace it?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why us?
- Everything repaired in place
- One visit for most repairs
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK
- No extra charge for your area

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Honest limits
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

DIY kit or professional repair?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Aftercare tips
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Small chips are quick to repair. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.
Knob's Crook questions
Can rust on a bath be repaired?
Yes, very frequently. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Is there any odour?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
How invisible is a bath repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.
How much does bath repair cost in Knob's Crook?
Repairs from £95. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.
Which areas do you work in?
The whole UK, including all of Dorset. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
What we do, step by step
We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
How to prepare
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Have a window or extractor fan available
