Repairing versus replacing in Woodlands
For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why book with us

- Everything repaired in place
- Colour mixed on the day to match

Bath repair in Woodlands, done in place
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Whether it’s a hole punched through by something heavy and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, we can help, on acrylic, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths alike.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Woodlands
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Woodlands use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
How it works
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Ensure the area is dry
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Woodlands questions
Is a bath repair durable?
A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.
Do you cover the whole of Dorset?
We cover the whole UK, including Woodlands and the rest of Dorset. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.
Are there extra charges for Woodlands?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
How quickly can you book me in?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Usually. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Honest limits
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.
