About our bath repair in Larton

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We work on cast iron enamel, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are a hole punched through by something heavy and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Larton questions

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Do you work in Larton?

We do. Technicians travel to Larton from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

Do you cover the entire of Wirral?

The entire UK, including all of Wirral. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

When to call us in Larton

Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting

Before booking anyone

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How to care for the finish

Our hiring checklist

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a morning or an afternoon. The room is left tidy.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Get a quote

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

For anyone letting property in or around Larton, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • How many areas need work
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage

Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • The material, if you know it

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Should you replace it?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • One visit for most repairs
  • No extra charge for your area
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
