How we handle bath repair in Llandoche

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We’re often asked to fix damage beneath the taps and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, across acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Llandoche and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Your questions about bath repair in Llandoche

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the following day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Rinse it down after each bath

A repaired bath needs no special treatment. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Llandoche

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

Should you replace it?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for two to three hours for most chips. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Open a window if you can

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
