About our bath repair in Lowlands
We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the day after. Typical jobs include rust spots around the plughole and a cracked acrylic bath, across pressed steel enamel, acrylic and cast iron enamel.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can I fix it myself?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The type of damage
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many items we do on one visit
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Natural light rather than flash
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Signs you need bath repair in Lowlands
Rust normally starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Chips under the taps
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- Snagging damage from a refit
What your quote should include
- How soon you can use it again
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- How the room is protected while they work
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.
Common questions in Lowlands
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.

Why repair rather than replace?
Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How it works
Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes two to three hours for most chips in most cases. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
