Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. Whether it’s scratches you can feel with a fingernail and damage beneath the taps, we can help, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel alike.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

Advice

Should you replace it?

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

FAQs for Lowton

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Lowton included. Travel is included in the price.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Are there extra charges for Lowton?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Will the repair show?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

When to call us in Lowton

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

Clients typically contact us about:

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How the colour is matched
  • How the room is protected while they work
