About our bath repair in Marchwiel
Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can normally bathe again the next day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people get in touch are a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and cracks in an acrylic bath.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It typically takes a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Let us know which floor the room is on
How to get a price
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

When to call us in Marchwiel
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.
Look out for any of the following:
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Chips caused by builders
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Cracks in an acrylic bath

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
What affects the price in Marchwiel
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Marchwiel. What changes the price is:
- The material and finish
- How much damage there is
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Doing more than one item at once
We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Getting a price from pictures
Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Any details about the material
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
Should you replace it?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Why Marchwiel clients choose us
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- One visit for most repairs
- Fixed prices from your pictures

Looking after it afterwards
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.
What we can’t put right
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Questions from Marchwiel
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Frequently, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
Can rust on a bath be repaired?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Is a bath repair durable?
A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.
Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
