Bath repair near Marden

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Bath repair at your home in Marden

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We are frequently asked to fix a chip where the taps sit and chips along the edge of the bath, across pressed steel enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

What affects the price in Marden

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

When to call us in Marden

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

How to compare quotes

Your questions about bath repair in Marden

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Do you cover Marden?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Marden. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.

What happens on the day

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim normally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What we cannot put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
