How we handle bath repair in Moore
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can usually bathe again the day after. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. Common call-outs are for damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and damage beneath the taps, across whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

Repairing versus replacing in Moore
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to look after the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, generally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the damage
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
