Bath chip & crack repair in Newmarket, Gloucestershire
Chip and crack repairs to enamel, acrylic and cast iron baths at your home in Newmarket, with a one-year guarantee on every repair.
- Repairs from £95
- Holes from dropped items
- A chipped rim or side

Aftercare tips
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
Bath repair in Newmarket without replacing anything
Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. We are frequently asked to fix chips along the edge of the bath and a cracked acrylic bath, in pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

When a repair is not the answer
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
The process
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Clear the area around the damage
How to get a price

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- How hard the colour is to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Send photos for a quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- One picture of the whole bath
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Where you are, by postcode
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Send us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, with your GL6 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Do you need bath repair in Newmarket?
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Chips caused by builders
- A chipped rim or side
- Impact holes in acrylic
- A cracked acrylic bath

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Your questions about bath repair in Newmarket
What information do you need?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.
Is there any odour?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Most baths can be used the next day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
