FAQs for Park Bridge

Do you cover Park Bridge?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Park Bridge and the rest of Tameside. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we’ve done.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send photos.

Do you cover the whole of Tameside?

Across the UK. Prices don’t change with location.

Bath repair in Park Bridge, done in place

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the next day. Common call-outs are for deep scratches in acrylic and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, across whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Work for landlords and builders

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Park Bridge. The price comes down to:

  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Quotes from your photos

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or ring us. We will say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How to care for the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

What we cannot put right

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
