Bath repair at your home in Pen-clawdd
A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day. If you’re dealing with a hole punched through by something heavy and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, we can normally put it right, on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding alike.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes two to three hours for most chips, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Advice
Honest limits
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
What we work on
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
DIY repairs versus a professional job
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
Repair or replace in Pen-clawdd?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Prices start from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Pen-clawdd. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Work for landlords and builders
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.
Quotes from your photos
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Where you are, by postcode
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Natural light rather than flash
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
Aftercare tips
Aftercare is simple:
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.
