Bath repair in Quayside

Landlord and trade work in Quayside

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Bath repair in Quayside, done in place

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Typical jobs include an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and scuffs and scratches in the surface, in pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Quayside as everywhere else we work.

How to look after the repair

Aftercare is simple:

  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

Do you need bath repair in Quayside?

Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage isn’t always spotted until later. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Chips caused by builders
  • A kit repair that didn’t last

Repair or replace in Quayside?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Why Quayside clients choose us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Read our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

When we would advise against a repair

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

How it works

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a few hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Ensure the area is dry

Advice

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Common questions in Quayside

Do you work in Quayside?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Quayside from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We come back with a fixed price, usually with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Normally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
