Bath repair at your home in Redcar

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are chips caused by builders and scuffs and scratches in the surface.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Redcar. The price comes down to:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Redcar questions

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Frequently, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Common problems we fix in Redcar

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips under the taps

Before you book anyone

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

How to compare quotes

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
