Need bath repair in Rising Bridge?

Bath repair at your home in Rising Bridge

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. If you’re dealing with holes from dropped items and chips along the edge of the bath, we can help, whatever the material.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

What affects the price in Rising Bridge

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work

We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

To get a price, send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away if a repair is the right fix.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. Allow two to three hours for most chips.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Rising Bridge: your questions answered

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Often, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Keeping it looking good

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Landlord and trade work in Rising Bridge

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Do you need bath repair in Rising Bridge?

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Chips caused by builders
