When to call us in Sandilands

The most common problems we are called about are:
- Impact holes in acrylic
- A chip where the taps sit
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Cracks in an acrylic bath

Bath repair in Sandilands without replacing anything
A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We are often asked to fix a hole punched through by something heavy and rust by the waste and overflow, across roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

Repair or replace: which is better?
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

FAQs for Sandilands
Is a bath repair permanent?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK, and that includes Sandilands. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Often, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
How invisible is a bath repair?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
When a repair is not the answer
Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:
- A steel bath rusted through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Looking after it afterwards
To keep it looking its best:
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Have new chips seen to early
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
What we do, step by step
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours, depending on the damage, tidy-up included.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Let us know about parking or access
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
Ask for a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

What else we do in Sandilands
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
