How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

  • Chips under the taps
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

How the visit works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

FAQs for Sandridge

How do I get a price for bath repair in Sandridge?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your SN12 postcode.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
