Need bath repair in Shinfield?

Bath repair in Shinfield, done in place

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. Whether it’s an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and rust spots around the plughole, we can usually put it right, on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel alike.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Shinfield and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What the surface is made of

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your RG2 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Your questions about bath repair in Shinfield

How invisible is a bath repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we’ll tell you what to expect.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

How long before I can use the bath?

Generally within a day, though it depends on what we have done.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Do you work in Shinfield?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Shinfield. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Shinfield and the rest of Reading. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we will arrange it.

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage in most cases. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Preparing for the visit

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why us?

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
