What we cannot put right

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel

Bath repair in Spitalfields, done in place

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site. We work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and cast iron enamel, and people most frequently call us about rust by the waste and overflow and snagging damage from a refit.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Spitalfields and across Greater London.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips on the rim or sides

10 questions to ask before booking

Repair or replace: which is better?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Spitalfields. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why Spitalfields clients choose us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Generally one visit, start to finish

Keeping it looking good

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

Spitalfields: your questions answered

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Spitalfields?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

How quickly can you book me in?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Do you cover Spitalfields?

We do. We send a technician to Spitalfields for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. Allow a few hours, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
