Bath repair for Stratton homes

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

How we handle bath repair in Stratton

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are deep scratches in acrylic and a hole punched through by something heavy.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Stratton and across Dorset.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Colour-matched on site

Your questions about bath repair in Stratton

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Are there extra charges for Stratton?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, usually with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

What we can’t put right

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about parking or access

Advice

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any details about the material
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A photo taken from further back

Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your DT2 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

How to look after the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.
