Bath repair in Sway, done in place

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day. Common call-outs are for snagging damage from a refit and a kit repair that didn’t last, in acrylic, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

Why repair rather than replace?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Sway

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A picture taken from further back

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote.

Your questions about bath repair in Sway

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Sway and the rest of Hampshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Will the repair last?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

When to call us in Sway

Baths take more knocks than people expect: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

Questions to ask before booking

  • How to look after the finish
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Choosing a repair company

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Advice

What a repair cannot fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
