Bath resealing near Sway

Bath resealing at your home in Sway

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. We work on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people get in touch are gaps by the taps and gaps in the seal.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Honest limits

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Air the room after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Do you need bath resealing in Sway?

Sealant does not last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • An untidy old seal
  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Damp near the bath

Our hiring checklist

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes about two hours for a bath, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Your questions about bath resealing in Sway

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone won’t bond to old.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

How long will it take?

Normally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

What information do you need?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your photos

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
