Bath repair in The City without replacing anything

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. We’re frequently asked to fix scratches you can feel with a fingernail and rust by the waste and overflow, on whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and acrylic.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

The City questions

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What areas do you cover?

All of Buckinghamshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Most customers in The City get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Why repair rather than replace?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Typically it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for The City. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • We leave the room as we found it

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

Do you need bath repair in The City?

Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage isn’t always spotted until later. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

Customers usually contact us about:
