Bath repair at your home in The Hollands
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, usually in a single visit. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are chips on the rim or sides and a kit repair that didn’t last.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
When to call us in The Hollands
Damage during fitting is very common. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, frequently before anyone notices. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- Damage beneath the taps
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- A hole punched through by something heavy

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including The Hollands. What changes the price is:
- How much damage there is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Access to the area
- The type of damage
We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Quotes from your pictures
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:
- Any details about the material
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Something in shot to show the size
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.
What happens on the day
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Make sure the area is dry
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

What a repair cannot fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
What we work on
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.
Why us?
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK

The Hollands questions
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Frequently, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Typically, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
Which areas do you work in?
We cover the entire UK, including The Hollands and the rest of Staffordshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.
Will the repair last?
A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
What happens next?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Keeping it looking good
To keep it looking its best:
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Rinse it down after each bath
Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
