Bath repair near Toogs

How we handle bath repair in Toogs

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. We work on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and people most frequently call us about damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and damage beneath the taps.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.

Do you need bath repair in Toogs?

Rust usually starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Customers usually contact us about:

  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Rusty patches near the plughole

FAQs for Toogs

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

What happens next?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. You are under no obligation.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the entire bath

For a price in Toogs, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Repair or replace in Toogs?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one generally means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take a few hours.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know about parking or access

How to get a price

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your ZE2 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

What a repair cannot fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
