Bath repair near Treales

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Treales, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll price them together.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Treales as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

How we handle bath repair in Treales

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can generally use the bath the next day. Typical jobs include snagging damage from a refit and deep scratches in acrylic, across cast iron enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Treales and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon in most cases. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the following day.

When a repair is not the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel

Treales questions

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes, we do this often. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

How invisible is a bath repair?

We aim for a repair you cannot easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what to expect.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • What the surface is made of

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.
