Bath repair at your home in Trostre
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. If you’re dealing with scuffs and scratches in the surface and damage beneath the taps, we can generally put it right.

Trostre questions
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.
Can you quote from photos?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Can landlords book you?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
How long before I can use the bath?
Typically the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Generally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.
Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Do you need bath repair in Trostre?
Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
The things clients normally mention when they call include:
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Cracks in an acrylic bath

What affects the price in Trostre
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Trostre. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Quotes from your photos
You can take the photos on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Something in shot to show the size
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Trostre
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
What a repair can’t fix
A repair is not right for every job, including:
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
Looking after it afterwards
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Have new chips seen to early
- Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.

Related advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
