Landlords, agents and businesses in Upsall

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

How we handle bath repair in Upsall

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. If you’re dealing with damage beneath the taps and chips caused by builders, we can help, whatever the material.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Bath enamel chip by the waste, filled and colour matched (before and after)

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow two to three hours for most chips. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Upsall: your questions answered

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes, we do this frequently. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Do you cover Upsall?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Upsall from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a fitted bath typically means a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • How many areas need work
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A photo taken from further back

Upload photos of the damage and one of the entire item, with your YO7 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

How to look after the repair

Aftercare is simple:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
