Bath repair for Waddon homes

Bath repair at your home in Waddon

Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. We work on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people get in touch are deep scratches in acrylic and a cracked acrylic bath.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What affects the price in Waddon

Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Waddon. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

For a price in Waddon, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Do you need bath repair in Waddon?

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Snagging damage from a refit

Questions to ask before booking

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What happens if they find more damage

How to compare quotes

Why repair rather than replace?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why Waddon customers choose us

Your questions about bath repair in Waddon

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is a bath repair durable?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.
