Our bath repair service in CR2
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Common call-outs are for cracks in an acrylic bath and a kit repair that didn’t last, in cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- Once it has cured, usually by the following day, the bath is ready to use.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How the damage happens
Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.
Clients generally contact us about:
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Damage beneath the taps
- Snagging damage from a refit
Should you replace it?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
Looking after it afterwards
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
Honest limits
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Common questions in CR2
Will there be a smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Which areas do you work in?
The entire UK, including all of Greater London. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Often, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
