  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Chips under the taps

What your quote should include

Bath repair in West Timperley, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We’re frequently asked to fix impact holes in acrylic and scuffs and scratches in the surface, on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

West Timperley questions

How much does bath repair cost in West Timperley?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your WA14 postcode.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Will the repair last?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Access to the area
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A picture taken from further back

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the following day.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Advice

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
