Bath repair at your home in Whetstone
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the day after. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We’re frequently asked to fix a chipped rim or side and chips caused by builders, across acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- How many areas need work
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- What the surface is made of
- The colour and finish to match
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Quotes from your pictures
You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- The material, if you know it
- Natural light rather than flash
- Something in shot to show the size
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Whetstone, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
When we’d advise against a repair
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a fitted bath usually means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.
Why us?

How the visit works
We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, generally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.
How to prepare
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
Ask for a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
How to care for the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
Repairs by material
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Whetstone questions
Do you come to Whetstone?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Whetstone and the rest of Leicestershire. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Will the repair last?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Leicestershire.
