About our bath repair in Wonford

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are rusty patches near the plughole and cracks in an acrylic bath.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

FAQs for Wonford

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do you cover Wonford?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Wonford and the rest of Devon. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Landlord and trade work in Wonford

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

If you manage property in Wonford, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes two to three hours for most chips, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Advice

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

Repairing versus replacing in Wonford

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Work done at your home or business

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Natural light rather than flash

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
