Need bath resealing in Berrow?

Bath resealing in Berrow, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and damp near the bath, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a couple of hours. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

What we are called out for in Berrow

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

People normally call us after spotting one of these:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Damp near the bath
  • Black mould in the sealant

Choosing a repair company

Landlords, agents and businesses in Berrow

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Berrow use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

Why it’s worth resealing in Berrow

Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Work done at your home or business
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
