Trusted bath resealing in Bodiam

Bath resealing in Bodiam, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We are frequently asked to fix damp near the bath and stained silicone, on basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A flexing bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Air the room after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It normally takes around two hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How we price bath resealing

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Bodiam. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Bodiam, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
