Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Boroughby, Peterborough
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone for homes and businesses in Boroughby and across Peterborough. Send pictures for a free, fixed quote.
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- A messy previous reseal
- Mould you cannot clean out

Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
About our bath resealing in Boroughby
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. If you are dealing with missing sealant behind the taps and a messy previous reseal, we can help.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Boroughby use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Why reseal now?
Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Air the room after use
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, usually around 24 hours.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
FAQs for Boroughby
How much does bath resealing cost in Boroughby?
We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, Boroughby included. Travel is included in the price.
How long does resealing take?
A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Can you quote from photos?
In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
You will get the curing time from us.
How do I stop mould in sealant?
Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.
Honest limits
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Baths
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
The process
We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a couple of hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
How to prepare
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Let us know about parking or access
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
