Trusted bath resealing in Botesdale

About our bath resealing in Botesdale

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. We regularly repair wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths, and common reasons people contact us are stained silicone and black spots in the silicone.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Botesdale and across Suffolk.

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we work on in Botesdale

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

The process

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a couple of hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Advice

Prices and what affects them

You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How many areas need work

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed price

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can price the job.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Botesdale. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

For landlords and businesses

If you manage property in Botesdale, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
