Bath resealing near Bradford Peverell

Bath resealing at your home in Bradford Peverell

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. Our technicians work on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are gaps in the seal and unsealed corners.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Resealing in Bradford Peverell: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book.

Questions from Bradford Peverell

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

Never over old. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

How long will it take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Usually poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a couple of hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Getting a price

What a repair can’t fix

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Signs you need bath resealing in Bradford Peverell

In time, even good sealant discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Look out for these signs:

  • Gaps by the taps
  • Stained silicone
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Aftercare advice
  • How the room is protected while they work

10 questions to ask before booking

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, generally around 24 hours.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

What bath resealing costs

We charge the same across the UK, including Bradford Peverell. What changes the price is:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Doing more than one item at once

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to get a fixed price

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.
