Need bath resealing in Brinklow?

Bath resealing in Brinklow, done in place

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Our repair technicians work on baths, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people get in touch are unsealed corners and a messy previous reseal.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

What we’re called out for in Brinklow

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

The things customers normally mention when they call include:

  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • An untidy old seal
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Missing sealant behind the taps

Common questions in Brinklow

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What a repair can’t fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A flexing bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Brinklow

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

For anyone letting property in or around Brinklow, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes around two hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
