Bath resealing near Brockford Street

Bath resealing at your home in Brockford Street

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. If you are dealing with discoloured, yellow sealant and an untidy old seal, we can help, whatever the material.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Brockford Street: your questions answered

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.

Do you work in Brockford Street?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Brockford Street and the rest of Suffolk. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do you charge for travel?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for about two hours for a bath. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear the area around the damage

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Prices and what affects them

A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Any details about the material
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can give you a fixed quote.

How to care for the repair

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

Signs you need bath resealing in Brockford Street

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Stained silicone

Comparing quotes

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What prep work is covered
  • How long it needs to cure
  • If travel is included in the price

Our hiring checklist

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Brockford Street

  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
