Need bath resealing in Bruera?

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Bath resealing at your home in Bruera

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. If you are dealing with leaks at the edges and black mould in the sealant, we can help, on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures alike.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cheshire West and Chester.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a couple of hours from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

10 questions to ask before booking

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • Everything repaired in place
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • One visit for most repairs

How we price bath resealing

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • The type of damage
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • What it’s made of, if you know

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Air the room after use
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
