About our bath resealing in Calrofold
We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Our technicians work on wet rooms, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people contact us are discoloured, yellow sealant and water getting behind the bath or tray.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Calrofold as everywhere else we work.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
- Let steam out after showers
Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.
Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
How we price bath resealing
We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The colour and finish to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Quotes from your pictures
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- Any details about the material
- Where you are, by postcode
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Resealing in Calrofold: why it matters
Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Calrofold. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know about parking or access
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
